My turn to write. We have plane tickets. We have passports. We have debit cards, travelers checks, and cash. We have clothes to wear. We have a camera, ipods, and books (some fiction, some about Rome). We are not bringing laptops or my PDA.
We have been warned about the pickpocketers. We have been warned about the gladiators at the Coliseum that steal cameras. We have been told by numerous people about the beauty and history of Rome and Assisi. We have a great tour group to take care of us.
We know that the kids will be well cared for. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes, prayers, and support.

I've never heard about camera-stealing Gladiators. And the pickpockets aren't bad if you don't look like an obvious tourist.
Eat gelato every night (raspberry's my favorite).
Pray for me at the holy sites and be assured of my prayers here for you.

Some people don't speak Italian and wear strange black cloaks everywhere.
